How Bexx Secret Garden was Born

Singing is what comforted me as a young girl alone in her room with her guitar, eventually growing into where my heart lived for years. I went on to become lead singer for a run of bands, rock n' roll, country, pop, and stages all over the Pacific US, plus the casinos and clubs of Vegas, Tahoe, and Reno. That's where my fans came from.

Off stage, I was entertaining in a different way. Even while I was pursuing my singing career, I was always throwing dinner parties and themed parties for my kids, cooking, gardening, decorating, dreaming up menus for the friends and family in my own garden, creating recipes and gift baskets filled with goodies for the holidays. I'd come home after a performance and read cookbooks until I fell asleep.

By the time the supper club idea took hold, my husband and I were performing together around Los Angeles. Then in the 2000s, the supper club trend hit Food Network, and something clicked. Why not put it all together myself?

So I started my own underground supper club. I'd build a themed menu around whatever story I wanted to tell that night, then put together a performance to match — my favorite recipes and my favorite songs, woven into one evening. It was enchanting — the garden, great food and fare, and song. People never wanted to leave.

Word got around. People started asking when the next one was, and where. I'd tell them, and they'd show up again — sometimes with friends this time. After a while, the question changed. It wasn't "when's the next one" anymore. It was "why don't you just open this place up?"

So I did.

That was 15 years ago. Fifteen years of menus, cakes, florals, and full evenings built by hand, into the garden that I grew and built over time. It didn't start as a business plan. It started as a supper club, because I wanted to entertain people with food and song.

I've always loved to create, whether throu gh song writing, singing and performing, gardening, designing, recipe and menu creation, or creating custom cakes and beautiful pastries. Now most of that creative energy goes into my clients, bringing their celebrations to life.

That's still the whole idea behind Bexx Secret Garden today.

Welcome to my Secret Garden —

a little piece of paradise I've created, hidden in the concrete jungle of the NoHo Arts District in Los Angeles.

I've been creating recipes and entertaining, on and off the stage, for years. Long before this garden had a name, I was throwing themed parties for my kids, testing new recipes, and welcoming people into a space they never quite wanted to leave. That's the thread that runs through everything I do — cooking, creating, and gathering people together somewhere beautiful.

What this place is

Bexx Secret Garden is a boutique garden venue for intimate celebrations — weddings, milestone birthdays, showers, themed events, anywhere from 20 to 80 guests. What makes it different is simple: it's all me. The menu, the cakes, the dessert tables, the florals, the event design, the planning — all created in-house, under one roof, by one person who cares deeply about getting it right. No juggling vendors. No crossed wires. Just one creative set of hands from the first idea to the last goodbye.

And the garden itself is mine too, quite literally. I've planted every plant here with my own hands — including the vegetables I cook with and the roughly twenty roses and twenty dahlias I tend to on the property. Beauty and function, growing side by side.
